My 70 mav is driving me crazy. The turn signals work on the outside, but both turn lights in the cluster blink at the same time. I cann't figure this one out. I replaced the regulator that is on the cluster from another one no help. I cann't see that the whole cluster is bad. Could it be the turn signal SW in the column? Or nightmare a wiring problem?

    Anybody with ideas

I've run into the same thing when I was at the Roundup.Haven't really had time to look into the matter, but I think it is a ground problem.Let me know what you find

Bad ground where? Somewhere in the cluster? The turn signal lights work good on the front and back.

My un-educated guess would be the turn signal switch. Un-educated because I haven't started looking yet.

It is not in the turn signal switch since the outside lights work ok. I would guess its in the gauge cluster or the ground wire going to it. I would plug in your other gauge cluster and see if the problem is still there. The indicator lights share a common ground so if it is missing, they will seek ground through the other light. You can trace the runs and find the common line. Then trace it back to the plug and see which wire provides the ground.

That regulator you replaced has nothing to do with turn signals. It is strictly for the fuel gauge.

OK everyone I found the problem. My son took it out last night and he said that the speedmeter did not work. oophs I forgot to connect it. So I took the cluster off and started to look at the wire plug. I notice that the copper lands where the plug goes was crack, I had one where a small peice was missing. So I took another printed circuit hooked it up and this connect the speedo cable and sure enough it work. Lights are brighter turn signal lights work right.

    Thanks for the advice.

Thanks Mike.....My problem is in the same ballpark. The wire connector on the back of the cluster has/had a broken/missing lock tang. I guess the vibration from racing at the Roundup shed some light on this problem
