i was just on another meesage board just looking around at was there and came across a frorum about the 70 mustang 429 there nothing but little teens in there who dont know jack about what there talking about. first off they said ford didnt know how to build there 429's and that the boss 302 put out more power and that you could get 600 hp buy just adding a differant carb. im know expert but i dont think you get that much of a power gain. you know these are the kind of guys that give maverick guys a bad name. ignorance really annoys me

Most ppl know little about the true capabilities of the 429 mustang cuz they've never even seen one.. I tend to only pay attention to the old farts that were driving them... As for the Mav. VS. Mustang.. I don't think thats a battle worth starting as both cars have alot to offer us car nuts... I know fitting the 351C block in my friends 65 Fastback was a tight fit.. I have yet to see a mav. attempt it.. hmmmm Future project calling me... Anyway.. think of the youngins as off topic humor and remember to breath when you read :)

Cut those kids a break its not there fault they dont know any better. I am glad that they are at least talking about mustangs and not hondas. And actually from what i have heard the boss 302 was the fastest of the bosses (i could be wrong. thought i read that in a mag) which to them means more power even though the 429 has more. And as far and stang vs. mav with a cleveland way to many variables to just say flat out that mav will kill the stang.

That is right. At least their talking about american iron. The kids i go to school with are so annoying. Not only do they talk about hondas and mistubishis, they dont even know enough to argue about them. Im not that experienced in the car world, only about four years, but i know enough to not say stuff like a honda civic is better than everything out there. It really gets on my nerves when theyre like oh yeah im gonna supercharge my honda, or better yet turbocharge! I can't see them arguing which exhaust is better,"no this one is, it bolts on 120hp" "no this one is better, it gives 125 with less backpressure!" Then when i pull around in the mav theyre like "cool car, for a domestic!" The nerve these idiot freshman have makes me want to punch them in the face.

Of course this is only the freshman that dont know anything about anything. it just bothers me.

Couldn't agree more Todd, every single idiot at school thinks that Hondas are fast. People at school think that turbos are the greatest invention known to man. However I pointed out that in my opinion turbos are useless unless you have an engine to back it. Take a look at these figures...Subaru (lesbian mobile) WRX get 23 MPG and so does a Vette. I know I know Chevy=bad... but its a good point I think. Anywho just sit and wait while there Mitsubishi blows its engine apart over and over. As long as I know there are people like all you out there I'll keep faith in my generation.

    Whoa man hold on

Im just saying that for them to say that my car is cool for a domestic car realy gets on my nerves. These kids think that my car is flawwed because of the one fact that it is american. I dont go around getting into trouble and breaking stuff. These kids look down on my car just because it is made in america.

    They're idiots.

I prefer American cars simply because they're usually easier to work on (at least the older ones, ) and a good amount of the work in them is done in the USA, not Mexico, or Japan, or some other place like that.

Damn, can't wait to finish up this Comet and start smokin' some rice burners......

I am too old to deal with ricer kids . They like what they like and are ignorant of cars made 30 years ago . As long as they keep their mouth shut around me things are good . The last affordable american " muscle " car was made in the 80s (mustang ) . Kids that are 16 to 21 just have never been exposed to the cars we like .

I remember when I was a kid in highschool and was told stories about the the 40s 50s and early 60s cars . I just wasnt interested because there werent any around and the fact that late 60s cars were the fastest cars ever made . Nowadays the the performance cars that are 10 years old or so are all imports so they are popular . I bet I sounded the same then as the kids now do to me .

All in all I am just happy to see that all the late 70 early 80s discomachines ( camaro/firebird/transam) are off the road . Although I find alot of those mustang kids irritating too .

90% of my school is the same way there is only 4 old cars at my school. a buddy of mine owns a 69 z28, another owns a 70 charger, me and my maverick and another guy owns a scamp with a 408. oh yea and one other thing these kids that put these body kits on there cars dont realize that it actualy henders there performance. unless your doing 170-180 mph then you really dont need a body kit at lower speeds those things creat more drag than anything else
