I was at a local show and shine ,,when a guy was admiring my comet,,he said he had one for sale a rusty 1975 auto with 250,,powr steering and pwr brakes disc. I went to check it out,,of crse i was curious,, and it was rusty but it started !! its all there,,sport mirrors , all chrome ,,plus i believe it had LDO .the chrome around the top was good,,and it ran..he wanted 200 dollars,,is it worth it to part out for my parts then sell the rest here?

Sounds decent if you can get some parts out of it and make a couple bucks on the rest. Of course I'd probably try to haggle him down a bit. Can't hurt to make him a counter offer and see if he bites.

Probably has disc brakes. I can sell that and the rear for an easy $300.

never hurts to ask. my sprint was listed at $1000. i asked what the best he would take was. he said make me an offer. i said $700, he said $800, i said okay. i saved $200 in less time than it took me to type this. we drove it right onto the trailer. he had to know i was serious about it as i even brought the trailer. i would have given him the $1000. never hurts to ask...:)

I's po folks, dude, I haggle on EVERYTHING! :D

Seriously, I had a similar experience to Don's with my Sprint. Guy asked for $400, I offered $300, he settled for $350. I find almost everyone asks a little more than they'd be willing to sell for. Just my :2cents:

I Bought A '73 Gt Parts Car Not Too Long Ago. The Guy Asked Me $200 For The Car W/ No Engine Or Trans. I Told Him Id Think About It And Before I Could Leave He Told Me To Hand Him $75 That Night And I Could Have It. Needless To Say I Bought It W/o Question :D

    (y) I'd say that's a good turnaround! You'd already be up $100!:drink:
