    Hey There Guys,

I was wondering if any of you guys know of any good places(places you have used/heard good things about) that I could find a new throttle cable from(or if you recommend a certain universal one) and also if you know of any cheap master cyl. or rebuild kit!

Any help is appreciated(I am on a budget right now... so trying to get this recently acquired comet going... quickly and safely)

    Thanks in advance,
    Sean O'Hanlon

For the throttle cable go to nappa they might have one or autokraters, rockauto.com they might have one. If not wreaking yard. The master cylinder don't go cheap any auto parts store will have one. No rebuilt kit. I don't think they make them anymore.

Sean, is the car a 6 or 8 cylinder? I probably have one or 2 cables laying around.

The 6 cyl cable will work on a V8.

Yes, there are 2 type of Maverick throttle cables for both the 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder. It has to do with where the cable connects to the gas pedal. One type uses a pin that fits through and has a cotter pin to hold it in. The other type has a plastic clip type thing that snaps in, hard to explain without pics.

I have one V8 cable of each kind, I don't own any cars with the cotter pin setup, I just got the cable because it was there one day and in good shape. Just so happens, thats the one Sean needs, and it is on it's way to him. (y)

The other one I am keeping for a possible future V8 swap into one of my Mavericks.

$50 for a 6 cylinder cable? Ouch!!! I can buy 6 cylinder cables all day long at the junkyard here for 5 bucks. I get V8 cables for the same price when ever they have a V8 car go through.
