I just took some photos of my new 1976 Maverick. It has Auto, A/C and a straight 6 engine. I just had it painted and had the windows tinted today.

This makes Maverick #2. You guys should have told me how addictive this Maverick collecting is!

Yes I am glad they were both desert cars. The white Maverick has just a tiny bit of rust behind the left front tire but its painted over and you really don't notice it. Not a bit of rust on the 76 Maverick as it has been in the Phoenix are it's whole life. I guess there is some advantage finally to living here....

I remember my first Maverick. 1970 3 speed on the column. It had a bit of rust on it but I think there in Florida somebody had some extra rustproofing (Zebart?) done to it.

I really get some looks now and folks wonder why I bought the second one. I tell them it was bought to keep the first one company! Wife won't let me buy any more. This last one makes the fifth one I've owned in my life.

    Here is one for you.....

I went to Pep Boys to get some parts for my Maverick and asked the parts counter guy (who was in his early 20's) for points for a 74 Maverick and he asked me who made Maverick! My thinking was that it was time for him to go back to flipping hamburgers at McDonalds. It is interesting the looks and responses I've gotten when someone notices one of my Mavericks. It's either "I've never seen one of those before" (younger set) or "Hey, I remember those..." or "Hey I used to own one of those...". We are indeed a RARE Breed!!

Did Ford actually steal our name and put it on a jeep or something and call it a Maverick? I saw an ad yesterday and freaked. I feel like going down to the Ford dealer and showing the dealers my Maverick and say that (while pointing to my car) is a Maverick....That (pointing to new "Maverick") IS NOT a Maverick!!
    The nerve.

    Long live the MAVERICK !!!

    ;)
