 Speedy, see you are in Dallas and read you found some 250-I6 hop up engine parts?..... My (ahem son's) 74 has that engine and he would love a few upgrades. Could you post the place you found the parts. Nothing too $$$$, but something would help. Welcome aboard, join MCCI, I have planned to now for several months.....O.K..........today is the day........

    Hey Comet Dad,
You'de be surprised just how much stuff is out there for Comets and Mavs. Just do a search on Comet or Maverick for starters. This Forum alone is just about all you need. I'm a new member and don't really know anyone yet, but the few corespondences I've had have been enjoyable. Here are a few links you can also try. The search is half the fun though. Anyway, Here we go. Try some of these:

Everything you will ever need right here at your finger tips.

The only thing I haven't found yet is a place to get some factory looking seat covers. I've found some for mustangs but not a Comet or Maverick. I'm wanting to redo my interior in black or the factory funky green color. If you find a place for these let me know. thanks,
    Dave

    parts from that 76 Maverick

From looking at that 76 maverick in the picture you could make more money from it parting it out! than selling it out right What condition is the interior in? I sure could use some seat belts and some other parts if they are in good condition.

    Speedy...

    ...Nice looking Comet GT.

In answer to the previous question, regarding V8's.
Comet GT's supposedly came with 200 and 250
6 bangers in addition to V8's.

Funny thing is, I have owned mine for 19 yrs. I have
always been aware of them when I see one and always
check them out. I owned one of 5 V8 Comet GT's at my
high school '83-'86. I knew of 3 others around town.
    All were V8 cars.

I have never personally seen a 6 cyl. Comet GT.

I am sure there are some out there, as evidenced by
    your find.

    Wow littleredtoy,
That must make mine a rare car:p

    J.Hope,
I started pulling parts off of it this morning so I could sell them on ebay. I pulled the grill and grill lights, the tail lights, the gas cap and the hub caps. I was going to pull the door panels but am afraid to attempt it because I'm afraid I will mess them up. I'll attach a picture of one of them. I took pictures of all four but most of them came out too dark to see. Their all about the same as far as condition goes. They look pretty good considering their age. It was actually a pretty straight car when I picked it up at the police pound auto auction. I've ripped out the engine, trans, and stearing column. Also the truck lock mechanism. One of the problem with buying cars from the pound is that a lot of them don't come with keys. You can have them made but I didn't want to spend any more money. I'll look at the seat belts tomorrow to see what kind of condition they are in. I'll need to know which ones your needing. The seats are not very good. About the worst part of the car was the seats. Also what other parts do you need?

    Hey J.Hope,
I'll put the rest of the '76 car pictures in the For Sale Forum. That way we won't clutter up the Main Forum with For Sale talk. I'll yank the seat belts out tomorrow so we can see how they look.
