    Brakeline replacement:

I have a brake line leak so I figured I may as well replace all of the lines at once. There is a kit on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Complete-metal-brake-line-kit-Falcon-Comet-1960-to-1976_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34199QQihZ019QQitemZ290010145852

It is listed for Falcon,Comet 1960 to 1976 and the ad says "We must know the year, model, disc or drum brakes to send you the correct kit." I was going to fab my brake lines from scratch, but this seems like a good deal @ $50 including shipping when considering time saved.

Has anyone used this kit from powerseller PartsAmerican? What do you think about going this route? Also, if I specify a 74 comet with drums will it work on my 74 mav with drums? (I assume so)

    Fuel Line replacement questions:
I plan to replace the fuel line and upgrade to 3/8" to feed my ~ 400HP power plant. My ford performance smallblock book says 3/8 is good for 400-500 HP and 1/2 is required for HP above that. Can anyone corroborate this?

Also, I want to put a fuel filter between tank and fuel pump for insurance since my ranger has a filter there (My thinking is FORD considered it a worthy improvement to the fuel system design to do it on an '89 Ranger). Is this overkill? Has anyone added a filter between the tank and the fuel pump?

    Thanks,
    Jamie

I have used this kit ... works fine. Quite a bit a bending will be involved ... you'll need a good bender and I recommend removing your old lines to use as a guide when bending the new ones ...

The line going to the back axle will be in two-pieces with a coupler in the middle ..

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will go for it.

    I've had a few
I just bought several 3 foot lengths of 3/16' line at Advance Auto to make my brake lines. I bought three 3 foot lengths of 3/8ths brake line and 2 couplers to make my fuel line. I only used about half of the last 3 foot section.

Looks like you could save a good bit of money going the ebay route. I had over $60 in my brake lines, fuel lines, and all the misc. fittings and couplers it took.

Ask Craig Selvey where he bought his brakeline. I bought mine from the same place and I think I only paid $60. I can not find the website but it was prefitted. It was easy to change.

I 've seen the right stuff deal. Not that it's pricey, but the ebay deal is much cheaper and since dmHines gave a thumbs up I already did the deal. Should get the kit sometime next week ... ain't ebay great!

As far as fuel line goes ... I think I will make that my self since there aren't many connections. I should be able to do the mainline to the engine bay for under $25.
