Well, the marks are never coming out. I didn't mean to let it, but this has really taken a lot of the fun out of the car for me. One of my favorite things about it was the awesome shape the factory paint is in, now that's no more. I don't want to go to shows and have to answer what "all those spots" are. I hate this.

Jokeing or not, my heart kind of sank when I read some of the responses on this thread. :(

I would suggest handleing the problem in a way that is legal, because you are just as much of a low life as the person who tore your stuff up in the first place if you tear someone else's stuff up in retaliation (paralyzing someone for life because they screwed up your paint job would be beyond sorry and pathetic) . You would likely get caught and I can guarantee it will only bring about further problems (more damage to your car).

Jamie.... you are not a "Dumb Teenager" as you called yourself, I agree with your advise, handle it in a legal manner and the outcome will be the best it can be.
xpsnake.....I can only imagine your pain, I also have an original paint 71, luckily I am able to keep it in a garage hidden from everyone's view. Actually, back in 74 it got bumped on the passenger side and I had to have some of it repainted. Who knew back then that 30+ years later I would still own it. It bothers me more now than it did then. Most people can't see the difference in the paint, but I can............
Have you talked to a GOOD paint shop to see if there is anything they can do? I don't know how bad it is but maybe it can be buffed out....just a thought......

For all those concerned, my suggestion of bodily injury is just my way of venting my anger over this situation. While I've had a few years of Kodokan Judo training, I have not had to fight outside the dojo since I was in 8th grade, I don't plan on changing that streak.

Hey, XP...we understand your pain, and know that you "feel" like inflicting pain (and we all do too, considering the responses), but few, if any, of us would ACTUALLY DO the pain infliction. But, it sure would feel nice to do it....

We really do feel for you...

Look I will tell all of you from my perspective, the statement I made, and I would think a couple others here were statments of "fantasy" so to speak, I doubt anyone on here would actually do the things we talked about, It's sort of like " spending the lottery money" ( you really know you will probably never have. Anyway it's a way of releasing steam in a safe way. I feel your pain here. in a 6 month period of time when I lived in my apartment back in '98. the following things happened to my property.
1st someone stole a large CD case from my Car ( recovered by the West Des Moines police by the way), Someone backed into my drivers side door left no note, Someone smashed out both driver side window and back window on the same side of the car, (not a part of strealing the CD's). And the Coup Degrase.. I heard a loud metal on metal screeching noise one night, half asleep I thought it was someone messing with the trash dumpster, next morning I went to drive my motorcycle to work, went to put the key in and found the ignition lock was gone, and the handle bars were bent, Fortunately I had the fork locked or I would have not had a bike to go out to.

Point is I feel the pain here, but make no mistake the ideas expressed aren't by any means meant to be actaully acted on, like I said it helps to dream of revenge, if not acting on it.

Saturday morning I walked out to the street where I have to park one of my Mavericks only to find the drivers side window shattered. This was not a breakin attempt, just plain vandalism. I then had to spend half of the day waiting for the sheriff deputy to show up. After taking the report, he asked if I would want to prosecute if they caught the vandal. I told him that since I was sure they wouldn't just give me the name and address of the perp and then lose the report, shoot yes I would want the jerk prosecuted. He just laughed and finished up the paperwork.

In the past two weeks, my 97 Tacoma was egged, the Maverick was vandalized and the housing association threatend to tow my car if it was found in a parking space on association property (even though I have paid for a permit and the car is legal).

I am in the process of putting up security cameras on the roofs of all the homes in the area to make sure that all the parking spaces that I use are covered as well as the houses with the cameras. I would LOVE to be at the courthouse when some punk kids get convicted for vandalizing mine or my neighbors property.

While violence dosen't usually cure anything, on occassion, a really convincing THREAT of violence can work wonders. :evilsmile
