What is the value of a 1977 4 door Maverick with a V-8 and a 302 engine? It has been garge kept and runs. It is located in PA and does not have a current inspection sticker. The car belongs to a neighbor who would like to know its value. Can anyone help? Also what info do you need to determine its value? As far as I know everything on the car is original. As far as rust I am not sure since the car is covered. I will have to check the mileage. The car has had only one owner. Would it be worth placing it on Ebay and seeing what it sells for? Thanks

Since you cannot really state the condition, then it is hard to estimate its value. Ebay is a great place to test a vehicle for its true value, if even inflated by the craziness of ebay. If you go to the trouble of taking some pics to post it on ebay, post it for sale here in the classifieds. You never know.

Come on guys, I know you are kidding, but have some respect, the guy has a real question. Let the poster know you are kidding, he is new to the site. Answers like that are at other car sites, this place is different, shape up.

I would watch e-bay and see what others are going for......
    In my opinion:
    PLUS is it's a v8 (y)

    MINUS'S(could be)
Its a 4 door (not the most sought after maverick)
Its a 77', which means its a big bumper car (again, not the most sought after)

I would just continue what you are starting here....research.
If my memory serves me from what I have seen...if the car is in excellent condition, you might get a couple grand out of it....depending on how bad someone may want it.
These cars have went as low as free to high resto's in the $10,000+ range.

You could put it on e-bay if you are wanting to get rid of it....and get some pics and post it in the for sale forum here.

i'd suggest looking at the vehicles on ebay and seeing what they are going for. you might also check the classifieds here and some of the other sights such as auto trader, craigs list, and i'm sure some others could be added. some one on here was just talking about there 4 dr. they just dropped the price to $2500 and it seemed to be in good shape. a lot depends on what the interior looks like, what options it has, paint, rust, etc.:)

I would have to see what kind of shape the car is in....Eric's NADA figures sound like what I would rely on

I disagree with NADAs numbers. We had a member here with an EXTREMELY nice 4 door V-8 car that couldn't even pull 2 grand. Fat chance getting over 4 grand. It ain't gonna happen.

I would guess the car as described without major flaws is about a $1000 car, unless it's really nice.

Thanks for the suggestions. I hope in a few days to post some pics of it here. Someone asked about the color.....it is Blue. The car belongs to a neighbor who is retired.
