I know this has been discussed before but I can't find it in the archives. What do you think the proper procedure is for jacking the front end up to work on one or both sides. The mavericks really only have the one cross member toward the front. Is this where you lift? It seems to me lifting from either side would tend to torque these unibody cars. Thoughts?
I always just jack them up by the front strut rod cross member and put jack stands under the frame rails anywhere there is a good place to put them. If I'm just going to change a front tire or something, I jack up on the frame rail right by the torque box. It seems to be a very strong area right in there.
Now that my car has torque boxes (boxed in with angle iron) I jack it up there and put jack stands under the frame rails or I just jack it up under the front crossmember depending on what I`m doing .
