Back in late March I got a phone call from a movie production company. They were looking for a few Mavericks to use in a UK television commercial. They hoped that I might be able to help locate some cars they had seen on my TexasGrabber.com website.

In less than a week, they had four of my cars loaded up and on their way to Dallas. I followed the transport up to the location and sat in on the filming during the first three days. They decided they wanted to do some more with the Mavericks and asked if they could have them for the rest of the week. Unfortunately, I had to get back to Austin for my real job, so I went back home, leaving the cars in the good hands and watchful eyes of their teamster driver.

Here is a link to a website that has posted the first of three commercials the cars were used in:

    Television Commercial with Doug's Mavericks

Under the "Select version to play" choose "Broadband Version"

I have bigger format versions of this and the other 2 ads which I will share at the Roundup! (There is a possibility there might be even more ads coming. They used a lot of film).

Doug, did they mention why they want to only have Mavericks appearing in their commercials? Not that I mind, but it seems strange.

    Very cool!!!!

A couple of days ago I got a call from a guy who wants to shoot a commercial in NY and wants a 75 Maverick. I turned him on to the Dolls so hopefully they will get a deal too.

    WTG, Doug!

Like the others, I've just GOTTA know why Mavericks?

BTW, is the green one the one that I fixed the shifting linkage on during FFW a few years back? If so, does that make me famous too? (rhetorical question: Of course it does! :D)

Again, why Mavericks for the commercial?

    Which movie was that?

Susie (my g/f) was an extra on "Tin cup". Still has the T-shirt she received for all her hard work!
