If your friend is making 700-800 rwhp or heck even flywheel hp and isn't using block filler or an aftermarket block, then he's doing somthing right, or he's lying. It's not a question of if, it's when will a stock block break, and it will be a lot faster by a long shot vs. an aftermarket. The question at hand was how long will it last. My reply was keep it around 500 rwhp for longevity, I never said that was the blocks limits. I also mentioned tune and detonation being the end of all, but the majority, and I'm saying 99 out of 100 easy stock blocks won't live long over what I've already stated.

Yes the bolck is hard blocked to the bottom of the casting plugs and the casting plug holes have been tapped and screw in plugs installed (like the boss 302). And yes he has a $hit load of money in the engine. and it is a stock block. I am not saying that the block will not eventuly break, that is why it is torn down every winter and magnafluxed. the fact remains that a stock or detuned engine will last alot longer with less money on the rebuild. The mor horsepower you push the shorter life it will have just due to the stress factor. What I am saying is that when you go up in horsepower you also need to go up in quality parts.
    Thats all
    Cool???????

Well there it is, it has block filler. I'm talking a totally street motor, driving in 95+ degree weather not overheating, but yeah, I can see a stock block with filler.
