i dont think horizontal billet looks good on mavs JMO

this one is the best out of all of them the billet is actually at an angle so it flows better with the car

so they probably had bolt on upgrades for the horse carriages that were in my grandmothers sears catalog from 1900?

as for the grills, so far i cant find anything online for just purchasing the bars. i did however see the new custom metal grill filler that has little shapes cut out of it, also the diamond shaped hole metal.the diamond shaped stuff looks hokey to me, i have that on the highboy hidden behind the stock grill for rock protection and on my swordfighting helm for face protection. works great but just not fond of it. ill keep looking.

That picture is pretty much what they looked like. Of course 30 years ago they wouldn't be made of billet, that's only occurred in the last 20 years or so starting on street rods.

Personally, I like the horizontal billet grill (and the veritical one and the other ones, and the other ones, etc.,).

Maybe I should have posted this in Cosmetic... :slap:

The focus here shouldn't be on Maverick Man, his models, or anyone's dreams (other than my own :D ) and that dream is to own a better looking grill...

Does anyone know if you can chrome-plate the plastic grills we currently have? That would be an improvement. I think our grills look good in black, or clean silver, but mine are both more grey plastic. I would like to have it more chrome, but don't really want to resort to the spray-can chrome. I would like something more permanent and professional looking.

Scooper, my 74 LDO has a factory chrome grille. You can find them every now and then on eBay. I'm not sure what all years the chrome grille was offered but they are out there.
