Hey guys , I`m regasketting my 5.0 and was wondering if I need to take the plate off the oil pump and pack it full of lube before I put the engine back together or can I just prime it with a drill before I start the engine ?

How much HP do y`all think my motor will make ? Its a 5.0 with cleaned up heads 500 cfm eldelbrock carb , dual plane intake and a set of black jack headers. I was thinking 215 - 240 HP ?

    Thanks

I did mine with a drill. Just to be sure i held it there for a couple on minutes just to make sure the oil was under enough pressure. i didnt have a gauge.

You want to spin the drill counterclockwise until you see oil at each rocker arm. Then manually turn the crank 1/2 turn and spin the drill again.
