    Identify?

Check the door data tag and you will probably find the following:

    1974 Mercury Comet 2 door sedan (maybe a '75, but I don't think so)

    302 (5.0 liter)

    C4 Automatic transmission

Some sort of dark blue color with the LDO (Luxury Decor Option) seemingly
    for the exterior and interior.

    Vin #

The first ? should be and 'F' if that is an original 302 V8 car. I suspect that
    it is.

Do a search for VIN Decode in the archives-look at 'Search' in the
top right corner. There is a website that has the codes to tell you
    what is there.

Nah, can't afford to :slap: But, I'll find out what the guy wants for any of the parts, if anyone is interested.

Just let me know what I should look for.

The Bucket Seats are solid, just covered in lots of dust/rust/dirt.

    Price, YUCK!

Well, I went back to that yard today. And I asked the old man how much for the car, just out of curiosity. And he told me.......

    $500 :slap:  :slap:

I countered with $200 and he said no. I asked him when was the last time some asked about the car. And he said 1985 or so. So, he's in no hurry to let it go.

It's a shame seeing those LDO buckets getting trashed .... plus the floor shifter setup and floor shift steering wheel ... depending upon the condition of the interior $500 is not a bad deal ... you are getting a complete V8 setup as well. Also a set of tinted glass ... etc ...
