My first car was my 4 door 1973 Maverick. I have put a lot into it over the years mechanically. Havn't paid much attention to cosmetics (its pretty banged up) A friend just informed me today of someone he knows who has a 72 Maverick 2dr with a straight body, no engine or tranny, asking $200-$300 to get it out of his yard!! That is exactly the year I wanted to fix up, plus my engine is already out of my Mav. I have no room for the 72 but will do what it takes, pushing it back and fourth on the street so not to be ticketed etc till I get my stuff swapped into it. I have yet to look at it though, but the owner thinks it is an ugly car and takes up space.

Is anyone aware of any compatibility issues I may have swapping mainly the 73's 302 and C4 over to the '72. How about rims and tires, currently have American Racing Outlaw lls 5 lug 15" 255-60-15 tires

All that stuff will fit just the same. Good luck with it!

My friend called the guy with the '72 2dr Friday to confirm his asking price. The guy told him he sold it to the junkyard last week! I asked him to find out what junkyard, he later told me Ecology auto wrecking. There are two in SD so I called one and they checked their inventory of recently admitted vehicles for both yards and show no record of any Mavericks within the past couple weeks. What a shame, really wanted to save that one.

'Might be worth a road trip to see for yourself if it's there or not.

    ???

I hate to see it dead-in like this.

    Good luck.
