I have three dead shorts. The instrument lamps and the turn signal/flashers switch, and the washer pump. I've already removed every fuse from the block with hopes of finding new leads. Anyone have or know of a good electrical schematic? The ' 71 factory manual does not have very good detail for the connectors. Also, where is the key buzzer located on a ' 71?
I have schematics, but it is on two pages...I would have to e-mail them to you and it would be a pretty large attachment (200-300kb). PM me if you are interested. I have a similar problem, no dash lights, just too lazy right now to find the problem...
Try this link: http://www.maverickcomet.com/Wiring/Maverick.asp Should find everything you need there.
'Too Many Shorts' Me and my dirty mind. I had lunch at Hooter's. I had a different kind of 'shorts' on my mind!
Thanks Ray. The diagrams helped me track the problem to my headlight switch.....BTW it was the original head light switch. I think it had a very extensive service life. Wish todays parts would last that long(half for that matters). Thanks again
I have been told to replace the headlight switch first thing, for my dash lights issue. I might just go ahead and do it since it fixed your problem, rather than doing research with the wiring diagrams. It would not hurt, and shouldn't cost very much.
