I'm new to this form and I was wondering if this Maverick is worth $3500, it's a 71' with a 302(don't know if original)
check the second letter in the vin for an x and also if there is a switch behind those gauges in the center of the dash. if it isnt a grabber its a pretty good clone. either way, if the car is low rust and runs good id say yes. if you get it, you will want to put some shock tower braces back in it.
I would say "YES". Lots of good parts on that car for that price. Probably runs better than we think...it looks like it has some drag history, so no telling what has been done to the 302. May be rebuilt, bored over, you never know? I have over $5000 into mine, and it doesn't look nearly as good as that one.
Also hes getting rid of it because he has too many cars (a GTO, Mercedes, and a EVO(i would have gettin rid of the EVO)
I think I'm gonna get it just got to get the ok from my parents it's gonna be the car i'm gonna learn how to drive on (First car was a 65' Mustang coupe, too much work for me so I had to sell)
Going by the above vin it looks like a factory non-Grabber 6 cyl car...but from what I see, I still says it's well worth it as long as it's not eat up with rust.
Cool then I just gotta convince my mom (Dad's fine with it, hes the proud owner of a 99' 35th anniversity Mustang GT convertible)
If you bought a stocker with little rust and spent the time and money to get it to that one`s shape. When you were done it, would probally be more then that in it.
jamie, could be wrong on that(wouldnt be the first time). still a nice car for the price. looks like the gto is one of the new ones at that. the wifey must be making him sell it, cause its an old car yecchhh!
