I changed a bunch of ignigtion stuff a few weaks ago, cap, coil, plugs, 7mm wires, rotar and it was running fine. recently it hasnt wanted to fire up and stalled out every once in a while. so I put the coil wire up near the block, cranked it and it was orange when it should be blue right? so I put another coil in, same thing. the battery is pretty new and hasnt given me any problems, could it be the alternater? its a '75 250cid I6. thanks for the help.
Your car has Duraspark ignition right? My '88 Ranger was doing the same thing and a new ignition module fixed it.
look for the melt down on the back side ....the sealer.. sap... looking stuff...they tend to melt most of the time when there going bad

yeah the connector is there, it is all factory to my knowlege no cuts or connectors. I changed the module today. nothing was melted of the back, that sealer was HARD, but on the new one it was rubber. I havent got a chance to test drive it since its raining hard now but with the old one it stalled out 3 times during the 5 mile trip to the parts store and was still hard to get to fire. I hope this new one solved the problem, it was $40.
That Did The Trick! after about 30 miles of driving and 4 start ups today no problems at all. The new stainless one with the fins on it looks cool too, I just have to wipe the greasy finger prints off it lol. I would have done it eariler but I saved the most expensive item for last I guess, should have done it sooner.
what last year when i had to change mine the chepest was $120 , i had to get one from the junkyard,i think its time for me to get a new one
