Same here. My new springs arrived much sooner than they said they would. They must like to under-promise and over-deliver. (y) They were shipped directly from the manufacturer, so JC Whitney was just the distributor for them. Only reason I went with 4-leaf (instead of 3) is because I don't want them ever sagging again..

quick qestion, for all you guys installing new 4 leafs, would you say the height is about factory height? Ive heard of leaf settling... Im afraid that after settling they will drop below factory height.

Since most of us probably bought our cars with saggy rear springs ... does anybody know for sure the factory ride height? Should the car be level or canted towards the nose. Just about every unrestored Maverick I have seen appears canted towards the rear.

I do , however, feel it may be an optical illusion. I measured the distance from the ground to the top of the wheel well opening on my 74 ... and the back is actually slightly higher ... although the car appears canted towards the rear ...

Thanks for the info. Just ordered a set for my black car. I'll take some before and after photos.

Dan. factory right-height is level. Not sagging and not jacked-up in the rear. My car sagged because someone carried heavy sand-bags in the trunk all winter to add weight for better traction in the snow. The stock springs were not up to the task.

To answer the other question, the new springs do settle a little bit. Mine have settled over the last 2 years, but only slightly. It's not drastic...

Actually .. they were shipped Fedex ... no box .. no nothing ... just the springs strapped together with a label stuck on one of them!

I put one of the new springs in today ... didn't have time to do both before it gets dark ... The new side is sitting about 3/4 inch higher than the old side ... I am guessing once both sides are in bearing equal weight I should get around a 1 inch lift total in the rear ... The shackles and bushings from eBay were an exact match to what I pulled out of there ...

Once I'm done I'll see if I need to trim the front springs a little for the desired rake. After removing 80 lbs of front bumper and mounts the front end is sitting higher than stock ....
