Hi guys, I have a ???. The door sticker tells me I have a W trans, which according to Chilton's is a C-4, yet I only feel 3 gears engage. Am I nuts, or is there a problem? All this time I thought I had a three speed auto. We recently serviced the tranny, (drained the brown stinky fluid, changed filter/screen, and poured new pink fluid in (type F)) and still we only have 2 shifts. What is wrong if any?  Any help greatly appreciated.

    oh golly

 ummm, well, I feel stupid. I read the entire section on trans in Chilton's and still thought that a C-4 was a four speed (hence the 4 in the C-4), mainly because chilton's kept referring to the Jatco as a three speed light duty trans, and the others without a gear #. Thank you for saving me a lot of worry, since my son is now licensed and driving. Thanks, Robert:oops:  :D
