Would these springs be good for doing the v8 conversion?

they say they are for a 390 and mustangs and cougars already have a little heavier front ends, most likely would make your car look like a monster truck. you could contact that site though and tell them you have a mav and want to put a windsor block in it. they could probably tell you which ones are right for you.i bought a pair that were specific for a mav with 302 from another company and they were way too tall. i ended up sending them back. some of the guys on the site have bought springs and then had them resized for the ride they like.Good luck

i swapped a 302 into a 4 dr 75 mav which had a 250-6 with a/c. left out the a/c & put battery into trunk. front end ended up being 1" higher than with the 250. probably would have been perfect if i kept batt in front. when i put a 351w into it, the xtra 50 should make it about right, anyway. do the swap & see where you end up. then make a decision, if needed.

I agree, I wouldn't try to stiffen up the front end until I had the engine in and saw what it looked like. Also, remember that you have to drive it around the block once to get the suspension to settle out. It'll look a little tall immediately after your swap.

If you decide it's going to sit too low, then I'd look for '64-66 mustang 289 springs.

How much does an I6 weigh compared to a small block anyway? It can't be too much of a difference especially if you put any aluminum on the small block.

My 4.6 weighs between 425 and 450 as it sits right now, and it really didn't compress the suspension too much when I set it down.

Thanks for the replies  It's going to be a 347 stroker so. I'll drop the motor in and see how it looks, and if its too low I'll go with the 289 springs.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
to me 6 cyl springs with a v8 isn't goning to sit any differant then ones with v8 springs and a v8 in it.

if they are aftermarket springs the car will sit differant but will not lower it as much as they say it does... if any that can be noticed by the human eye.

Oh ok, so I'm better off just using the stock 250 i6 springs?

also you MUST get an alignment after new front springs.. learned that one.. i wore both fronts out in about 1 month...

i wish i had gotten stiffer front springs.. i went with the 302 with ac springs and cut out 1 ring.. it looks fine.. but they are soft.. and the front goes up and down on bumpy roads
