A friend of mine who has some awesome fiberglass talent is trying to talk me into making a mini Elanor out of my 77. He thinks he can use 65-66 Mustang fiberglass and his skill to do it and show off his talent for advertising-etc- at the car shows. I'm very undecided because i really wanted to build this car back into the one I had in the late 80's only nicer.

So, what do you guys think? An offer like his (I buy the parts and help, he does the work for free) doesn't come around too often!!

Sorry for the long read and thanks for your replies!!

I think it is up to what you want the car to be. Your hesitation and indecision says a lot. If all the parts, supplies and work was absolutely free, but you didn't want it to be the way it ends up, is it worth it to you? All our ideas and feedback still comes back to the fact that it's YOUR Mav and it should be the way that makes YOU happy.

Find a cheap sacrificial car that he can do the work on. When he's done, you will be better able to tell what it looks like and if you want it on your car. With the exception of the roof, tail light panel, and quarters, everything else can me bolted on. If your not happy with it, sell the stuff and give him the money so his work will not be for nothing. Like Wes said, make your car your way.

Thanks for the replies! After thinking it over, I believe I'm gonna help him find another Maverick to make this his personal pet project. I really can't let him keep my car in his shop for who knows how long anyway!
