My block is an '89 roller 302 and I picked the correct for racing gear to use a point dizzy on my setup, however, in looking at the points vs the electronic dizzy, the shaft lengths are very different, several inches. Is there a points dizzy that will fit my late model roller block?

i could be wrong, but i thought all 302 distributors were the same as far as dimensions. is one for a 351W? it would have a 5/16 drive slot in the bottom instead of a 1/4 drive slot. by slot, i mean allen wrench opening.

I'm running an old distributor in my roller block. As mentioned, you probably have a 351W dizzy. BTW, with the Edelbrock retrofit roller cam I have you can keep the cast iron gear on your distributor and keep the old 15426378 firing order, too.

Sounds like 302 vs 351 is only .75 inch difference. It ain't a 6-cylinder dizzy is it? Those are very short ... :) Make sure you only measure the lenght of the tube that goes into the block ... I would imagine some dizzys may stick up higher than others ...

Parts store must be having some issues with their computer, because it said '71 302 for the one and '88 302 for the other, when I compared them, there was a huge difference.
