A good friend brought by these parts for me to pass on the info to you guys today. He learned about it from a "Transmission man"

The pan is alot deeper than your average c-4 pan ,so you`ll get the added capacity, also check out the Factory baffles and "special " filter
designed to use with the deeper, baffled pan .

These parts are from a 1974 Pinto C-4 ,and the Trans guy said they used them from 1974 and up (1980?) pintos.

I have one of them on my car...wasn't sure where it came from but I guess it may have been fron one of the 50+ Pinto's I've owned over the years. Kinda makes sense now...

I guess with all that horsepower that Pinto's made they had to have a deep tranny pan to keep from burning up the tranny!:rofl2: Good info!:yup: (y)

have u seen that on more than 1 pinto? that filter is listed in the trans supplier books as a bronco with deep pan filter. i would wonder if that pan isnt also really a bronco deep pan. would make more sense, not that ford always makes sense in their parts.

My friend asked the transmission man if there were any deep pans made from the factory that he could look for at the jumkyard. The Trans man said " yep ,lets go out back and look at the pile of cores ...I have one from a 1974 Pinto that should have a deep pan." ...after scoring the pan ,my buddy went to the local Napa and asked for a filter for a 1974 Pinto. They gave him the one in the Picture.

Update ! I had posted this info on another board and the resident "Guru" said that the Bronco pan was even deeper than the pinto pan,and that they used a similar filter.
