I got the comfortweave 71 grabber bucket seat covers i won on ebay today! my battery in my digital camera is dead:tsk: ........any how there in mint condition, i guess i never realized how rare comfortweave was in mavericks, heck i didnt even know they were comfort weave until DMHINES told me they were, i have 1 bucket seat in my garage from a 71 or 72 grabber but the material is different. Did they make black comfort weave in 72??? looking at the price that SMS MATERIALS, sells there comfort weave for i got a great deal....not to mention its OEM! ill post pics when seats are done :bouncy:

I have seen Comfortweave in Non-Grabber cars. The only other color I have seen is Red ... which is also shown in the 1971 Sales Brochure ....

without Comet now just keeping in touch
Hey just read this thread My '74 comet has what i Thought was comfort weave, but this contradicts that mine has inserts that are what I would describe as being like lawn chair material, I htought that was comfortweave, maybe not??? Mine is a mixtrure of several colors of blue

Comfortweave is called "Woven Vinyl" by Ford .... because thats what it is ... This strips of vinyl woven together. The Lawn chair material is some sort of Nylon I would guess ..

This is the backseat I got from the same seller. I was gonna bid on those covers (yes this is an old thread) but they ended up getting a little pricey ... although much cheaper than getting them reproduced ...

hmmmm, much better picture this time, before it looked like the same comfort weave in cougars and mustangs but that is definately the same type my seats had from the factory. wish id had the numbers when my seats got redone two years ago.

Maverick comfortweave is not even close to Mustang Comfortweave. Everytime I check out a Mustang at a car show I take a close look at the seats to see if they are original or have been reupholstered. Original comfortweave has holes in it so it can breathe .. the repop upholstery looks really close but it is just a pattern stamped in the vinyl ... no holes ...

That looks great. My seats are starting to come apart at the seat bottom stitching. I'll have to get this fixed soon and the carpet too. Mine is still original stuff.
