Hey Craig I was just showing your website to a co-worker that Fairlane Cobra is nice, my question. The "Marti Report" what exactly is that, can they search the stats on any VIN? I have always been curious on my Comet, about options etc and how many were built like it.
Not Craig, but I will answer your question. From Marti Autoworks- "We are the priveleged licensee (contract #5012) to Ford Motor Company's entire production database for the 1967-1973 model years. That means we can tell you everything about any Ford, Mercury, or Ford truck made in North America during that period. What color was your car? Easy. What rear axle ratio? Sure. What day was the car sold? Yeah, even that - and a whole lot more. " http://www.martiautoworks.com/ Seth
I had called them a while back and questioned why they only go up to '73. I was told that Ford wouldn't release any info to them on production lines past '73 and they didn't really understand why.
Got one for my '72 and I think it's kinda neat to find out the history on your car.Not cheep for the delux report but it provides alot of info.
I'll tell you why.... ....I was told that Ford gets a hefty $$ for the rights to distribute that info. The last 'real Mustang' was made in '73. The '74 Mustang II was available with a 4 and a 6 cyl. only. That is why they only go to '73 from what I have been told by several experienced collectors. Marti does not see any value in going farther. In addition to that, after about '70, there were fewer and fewer opportunities to 'custom' order a car with your specific options. Finding out what came on an '85 Mustang GT or a '76 Maverick Stallion is not as difficult and certainly does not add lots of value as compared to discovering that your '69 Torino came with an oil cooler from the factory. SVTHaulin... ...I have never seen pics of your car. It looks very nice. Tell us about it, perhaps I missed your story. Seth
I have never posted my story but I guess I can start a new thread in the new members forums.I don't want to hijack this thread
I bought the basic Marti Report for about $16. It doesn't provide much more info than you can figure out from the door panel sticker, but it looks good. I framed it alongside an original Grabber ad, and lean the frame on my front bumper when I take the car to shows. It gets a lot of attention. Roz
