Hello again. I'm the new guy from flowery branch ,Ga who won the auction for the red 71 maverick with grabber parts and the EFI 5.0 and AOD tranny.I just thought I would post a picture of a 73 comet a buddy gave to me to get it out of his yard. I had plans to build a Gt clone but I ended up giving it away to a car/parts dealer here in NE Ga about 2 years ago cause I already had a yard full of mopars.I gave it to him to sell to someone who may use it instead of hauling it off to the crusher.Maybe someone will recognize it..Terry
what condition is that charger in.. and what power train does it have? i used to have a 72 Charger SE with a 318.. 904... put a 3.55 posi in it... and rebuilt the engine...
The 71 charger is in excellent condition. It had only minor suface rust where I let it sit out too long. I have owned it since '87. I was keeping it for a parts car for my '71 super bee but I changed my mind about cutting it up for parts. its a 318 auto car. It has very good trunk floor,floorpans,quarters,doors,fenders,ect..Its been somewhat sanded, primed, and covered since this photo.
They dont rust very much here in so cal either but i dont know of ANY people that have them parked in their fields..... ok fine... There are no fields in so cal, all plots of land that have enough space to build a house with at least a 40 sq ft back yard are used! Thats why there are no cars in fields in so cal!
Flowery Branch, ehh? I lived just off Atlanta Hwy. on Warren Rd. for 9 years. I believe Atlanta Hwy. has been renamed now since the Falcons camp was built. Now just south of you in Suwanee. Go up to Flowery Branch all the time still to eat at the Nichols Diner (Dairy Mart). There is a blue '73 Maverick with a 302 / A/C cross the street at the transmission shop. Guy won't sell it though, "gonna fix it up some day".
My parents live in falcon crest.Yeah old ray allison wont sell that maverick cause a guy owes him a repair bill and I guess he is thinking the guy will come for it sooner or later.I work in suwanee for thomas concrete. The plant is behind the pyp auto salvage. Whats with the grabber halfway parked in a carport on jackstands just before you get to the pyp?
Ahh, so thats the real story of that car. My dad tried to get it several times in the 90's and I've tried a couple of times in last year and they always say they are going to fix it up some day. I think he was a little surprised to see that I was driveing a Maverick that day. I lived 2 houses from Falcon Crest. Little ranch style house up on the big hill. Thats where we built my dad's Comet that made it into Popular Hotrodding. Small world!
