22 gauge will do you fine for most areas of the mav.

Just my :2cents: : I use 20 gauge on most repairs, it's easy to work, but plenty strong, (and not as easy to burn a hole in welding it up.) just a hammer and dolly (and some patience/ practice) will get you nice and close. good luck!

putting that much heat will soften the metal but it will also warp it. It just depends on where your making the repairs. For external repairs, I would not take a torch to it. For shaping floor pans, I have use a tourch to persuade metal to see things my way. I would think a propane tourch would work for small areas but I"ve never actually tried it. I have a oxy/ac set.
