    Hi all!
What do you think of this 1974 Maverick? I'm seriously thinking of buying it but in lack of knowledge I would really appreciate some comments on this specific Maverick.

It's run about 100 000 kilometers, nice condition, power stearing, leather seats, straight six...

Sorry about the bad taken pictures...

It is a very nice looking car. make sure to check the bottom of the car and look inside the rear wheel wells from the trunk. if possible have a mechanic look at it so you know what all it needs. i only say this because it is a 30 year old car, definately doesnt look it though.

    Swedish Ford!

Nice looking car! I never thought I'd see one from Sweden though! All the best "Metal" is from Sweden! Cool to see the cool Ford there too! :evilsmile

Where is the Heavy Metal Smiley when you need one? :hmmm:

Welcome to the boards!:Welcome: and buy the car! It looks fantastic.

    Nice comments!

Thanks guys, certainly seems to be a nice forum!

Yes, found in Sweden, which should be quite rare I've heard. Only about 15 Mavericks (from the 70's) in Sweden! This car has been stored in a garage during freezing cold winters and has probably not been used that much.

I have actually not seen the car live and I'm not certain of the rear looks. I found an old picture (link) that might be similar to the car i found. What do you think?

Thanks for all the macanical comments too! I will try and check these things once I see it. Will also be interesting to pop the hood...

    Thanks again!(y)

It certainly looks clean. If it is important to you, check the seat covering material carefully-if it is the original upholstery-it is likely vinyl, not leather. I wouldn't want
you paying extra for something that is not there.

I don't know the exchange rate with Sweden (or Euros), but I would guess a clean
6 cyl. four door here stateside would be worth $2,000 to $4,000. That's my opinion.
I am sure that there are others. The 2 doors are just more popular. Funny thing is,
to me, the big bumper ('74 and up) 4 doors look better than the small bumper ('69-'73)4 doors. While the reverse is true for 2 doors.

    Good luck.

Looks like a great car! If it's as nice as it looks all over, I would jump on it.

That's because the ugliness of the big bumpers negates the ugliness of th 4-door so the overall effect is a better look. :rofl2:

I found another, sadly small, picture of it in action. Magnifying glass anyone...?

Prices for cars like these are in general much higher in Sweden than in US because the supply/demand ratio is different. The seller is a used cars sales company and the price is about $ 3100. Consider the information I've got, it seems more than fair. The car was purchased in Sweden.

I agree as well that the big bumpers look better on the 4-doors and the small bumpers look better on the 2-doors...
