The one in my '72 was bad when I bought the car, the inside part that spins was broke. I've currently got the one from my '74 Grabber in the car which has 203,951 miles on it and it's still working fine. I spray a little PB Blaster in it every time I have the gauge cluster out to keep it lubed up.

Wow, you have a car this old and don't know what PB Blaster is? It puts WD-40 and Liquid Wrench to shame. Smells like Diesel fuel, and just works awesome on basically everything. No tool box is complete without a can. From Google: http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/blp16-pb-ea.html
