have been a bit busy and haven't been able to post much, i recently perchased a 71 maverick 2 door, 200 i6, 3 on the tree, with 60k on it.. the outer body needs some work, but it runs great and the floors, frame, trunk, and ESPECALLY THE COWL VENTS !!! are in great shape.. fixed a hole in the quarter and it passed inspection with flying colors... so i poped out a few dents and put on some better looking hubcaps and im driving a mav again!!! i think im gona hang on to my 69.5 mav at the moment, have to see how things go in the next few months...
eventually im gona get some fenders for it, and the doors are dented up, but it'll make a nice driver for a bit.. not bad for a few hundred
About time! I know how badly you have been wanting to get one. Good luck with it. I have doors and fenders if you need them
Good Job Steve... Now you have something you can bring to Pittsburg. Great find Steve!!! Looks Really good by the way. -Todd
it'll probably be in primer by the time the western pa meet rolls around.. its just a driver/toy. i need to get the points changed out soon.. and id like to find a comet scoop for it as well but that's later... wes i still owe you a call, i apologize for being so busy...
It looks great. Good deal. Looks really straight. This will help take your mind off the dissapointment of the 69.5. Have a blast! All these new purchases people are making makes me want to get another Mav. Uh, oh......... I hope I'm not getting Doug's Disease! J/K -Corbin P.S. If anyone hears of a reasonably priced 71-72 Grabber in good shape with a 302 in the Central/Northern California area, let me know!! Seriously, all joking aside.
it defiantly takes nice pictures, its not as pretty in person.. but its coming around.. i need to lift up the springs some but i can't bring myself to get those god awful shackle kits, anyone add leafs to theres?
Great Find! Reminds me of my first Maverick that I had in high school. So how bad is your 69.5 other than the cowls?
Lift the back Steve, I had the same problem with my 70 when we got the new tires for it. Well, not the same problem, but we used "leaf helper" springs. They look like just a little 1 foot extra leaf that you put on the back of your leafs and it stiffens them and raises the car. After they were all ready to go, they lifted the car about 2 inches. You can get them at any local pep boys or whatever. They arent permanant but just enough to get by for a while. Hope this helps at all. -Todd
steve we are SOOOOOOOO happy for you! see? these things DO happen! i am sorry i missed you at carlisle so i can show you what patience, timing and a real small amount of money can buy you! GOOD FOR YOU!!!! keep us posted in pictures on your progress!
WTG Steve. It that one of the cars you sent a picture of to me? sounds like the ol' 69.5 will turn into a parts car. Nice find. Russ
no, it was for sale in the classifids here, i got a good deal on it, dunno what im gona do with the other one yet, it just donated it fenders though, its coming around fast .. i'll have to bring it around for you to see sometime..
