What are the thoughts of a coil-over suspension, replacing the leaf springs and bolted in place of the staggered shocks?

The upper shock mounting area will never support the weight of the car without some serious work.

the front end is an easy conversion to coil overs and would be cool. the rear would require a tubular rear end system welded in because like mav70 said the shocks would come through the floor into the car.

Would it be worth the $$$$ and work? Most anything is possible.

if i was building one for racing id do it, but for cruising the mountains a good bushing and spring set with some decent shocks is much cheaper/easier and works just fine.

I have coil-over/ladder bar in mine. I really like it.

Is it worth it? :hmmm: Not sure anymore :hmmm: ....with all the new stuff for leaf spring cars. You can get a leaf spring car to do some amazing things, ask Stephen Moore :D .

I'd say that leaf springs work pretty good.........but with any suspension, it takes ALOT of time to get things dialed in if you're making big power numbers!!
