have a rust question

    dear maverick friends
    i have a question the pice of metal that goes from the front frame rail to the rocker panel right behind the front tire what is the name for it and is there a replacement for it one side is rusted through thanks jim p

    I would say it is a floor suport.....I do not think they are repop of these,you may have to fabricate or get them from another car

    "Torque Box", I think someone once used a Mustang one...no reporduction part for Mavericks.

    If its the torque box, I doubt a mustang would work. Fabricate your own would be easier.

    thanks guys

    i talked to a car restorer here in missouri he said that mustang torque box
    will not work he said that if i had them fix it . it would about $350.00
    i said holy s####t !!!!!!!! so i figured i'd just buy a mig welder and do
    it myself i need one anyway. i'll post some before and after pict's. this is my grabber my mom gave me before she past away one onwer thanks jim p(y)

    Actually that is an excellent plan of attack. The welder will pay for its self very quickly.

    $350 sounds pretty good to me. if you think that is high.......wait till you get it painted.

    He's right... when you have a welder you suddenly realize you can fix almost anything. Ok, I'm stretching it, but I know I'd be in way over the $400 I have in my welder.

    i got my mig welder today for 179.99 it's a duel mig gas or flux core i'll be starting back on it soon man craig if it's that orange mav that's sweet!!!!!!!
    i'd love to do like that but limited budget. my grabber was my moms she
    bought it new in 74 this car is totally untouched except for rutine matanince
    will send progress picts as i do this thanks jim p
