I'm building a 302. well I guess its a 306 now. So far I'm just building the bottom end and it should be pretty strong. The block is a roller 302, its been bored, and decked, and cylinders honed. APR bolts, Probe Flat top forged pistons, the cranks getting polished, rods resized, and the rotateing assembly balanced and of course new frost plugs and all new bearings("high performance"), and a high performance flex plate. Plus since the engines being balanced I'll be going with a 28 ounce balancer rather then the 50 that is required so less loss of hp due to rotating mass, which should mean it'll rev faster. So thats that the bottom end looks like.

I'll be going with hardened push-rods, roller rocker arms, roller lifters, and aluminum heads, probably AFR 165's. Should build a fair bit of HP and move my car down the track.

I'm not sure what cam to go with yet. When I get that far I'll post. Right now Its just the bottom end I'm building. I'll probably go with a setup much like the edelbrock performer RPM package

what year block do you have. i have an 87 roller block that i'm just starting to think about. i'm thinking of 331 stroker motor. i have probe pistons and eagle rods in my 308 and am really happy. 2 years on the motor, going over 7000 rpm and just broke a lifter and rocker arm stud last weekend. first problem i've had. good luck.

not sure actually on the year of the block.... I brought one down to the machine shop that was an 86...but apparently it was cracked so they said they'd pick me out the best roller they had. So I'm not to sure which year it is.
