I put the 72 up on jack stands today so I could start inspecting the underside. Dan you did a good job on the floor pans on the car. The front end is in decent shape, I will be changing the tie rod ends out, the power steering unit is clean and seems to be in good shape, so it will stay where it is. I will be running new fuel and brake lines front to back, after the rear end gets changed. I will have to find a scrap rear quarter panel for the driver side to repair a small section on the body panel but that should not be too bad. All in all, everything looks pretty good. I will be using spray bed liner on the inner fender wells front and back as time permits and may also use it as deadening material on inside floors. I'm thinking on dropping the 4 bolt rearend this weekend. There is no gas tank yet but my friend Wade who owns a auto shop has a used 16 gal fuel cell in good shape, its the plastic variety with the foam liner. He said I could get it if I didn't find a tank...thought I would bring yall up to speed on what is happening...Jim :D

Chuck ( Fastfords) stopped by the house today and we looked over the 72 and swapped ideas around. Chuck is a great guy...gave me some food for thought.

I found a small spot off rust out in the cowl vent on passenger side today, gona get it cut out and fab a new piece of metal in for that.bout 6 inches long by 2 inches wide. rest of the cowl vent looks fine. Retaping the wiring under the dash to clean up that area while I check out the harness itself.
Looks like I will have to replace wiring harness under hood some sections are gone there. I'm gona trace all the wires front to back also...Jim

Well I went out and got a new wire wheel for my grinder today. Tommorrow I'm gona clean up the gasket area for the trunk, rear glass and windshield, removing old rubber, adhesive and surface rust. I have a small spot to repair and then I'll prime these places. The shell is coming along well and will keep me busy til I get some more parts in. Checking on head liner prices on ebay since all the windows are out...thinking on shaving the drip rails, but not sure yet... :D
