Are frame connectors necessary if I'm running a stock 351w ??? No changes to factory other than an Auburn mini spool and a Pete Jackson gear drive. Obviously, I will be frying the tires and terrorizing the "Ricers" in my neighborhood but other than that just regular cruizin' . Thanks, Darrel
i run a 308 that puts out about 350hp. when i put the frame connectors in. we saw that the tranny tunnel was cracking from the torque. i'd say go ahead and put them in.
I'd put them in...cheap insurance! I've had a 351w in mine for over 5years now and noticed about a year and a half ago that mine was starting to twist. I put it on stands every year(over the winter) and noticed that I was almost a quarter inch off. Over the winter I brought it to a body shop and had everything straightened and installed a pair of frame connectors I bought off here(perfect fit)...what a differance! Car drives and handles much much better.
These are 30+ year old unibody cars. I really think any of them could benefit from sub frame connectors, regardless of the engine. Never hurts to stiffen things up some.
Put Starnes Bars in my 69.5, and it made it drive like a different car. Much more control and better ride. Don't ask me why.......
Anybody got a picture of the sub frame connectors, how they are installed? Who makes them and has the best prices?
I found them at this site. I called them and the guy quoted me 99.00 + shipping . Pulley Engineering: Catalog, Page 7
