Does anyone know how much a 73 maverick weighs,or how much the hood weighs in comparison to a fiberglass hood.
Also, I am wondering about how much the factory front buckets/rear bench weigh together.
If anyone can take a stab at it I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks Steve

    weight

The seats in my '72 weighed an awful lot at least 150lb between them.
as far as total vehicle weight, it's pretty hard to say.
depends on motor, trans, options and such.
the hoods are pretty light, but of course a glass hood will always be lighter.
I weighed mine with the front seat out, all the rubber mat and sound absorbant material removed, the rear seat installed, reeeeaaly heavy back tires, 3/4 tank of fuel and me in it and came up with 2710lbs I have a 302 with aluminum heads and intake.
You can get 'em much lighter (I'll get there eventually).
Fordman has his down to 2400lbs!
Use the search button and type in weight.
It'll pop up lots of threads.

Glass hoods (pinned or 1/4 turn style) weigh less than 15 pounds .

I would say a steel hood with hinges would be around 75, maybe less

Do you guys think that relocating the battery to the rear really helps that much?
Also, are fuel cells any lighter than the factory tank?
    Thanks Steve

I weighed my Sprint at a Cat scale too. It was 3240 with a full tank of gas and me. I'm about 230. I have alum heads, intake, radiator and the battery in the trunk. The rear mounted battery helps in weight distribution. Mine was 1660 front and 1580 rear. pretty close to 50/50
