    Hi,

New hear. I've just bought a 69 1/2 Mav. Haven't even seen it yet but am starting to dream. Considering a stroked 351 either a 9.2" or 9.5" deck with either AFD or Brodix heads does any one make headers that fit right out of the box or is it best to start from scratch.

    Thanks
    Bryon

I suspect your very familuar with the motors but not the car.
The Mave bay is smaller than a Mustang.
Getting long tubes larger than 1-1/2" won't fit.
The 9.5 deck definatly not. Even then you would need to begin making clearence at the spring towers for a 9.2 motor.
I run a 9.5 sportman block and the extra width almost stopped the build in a sprint car, from frame width considerations because the frames are all based on Chev motors.
Once you get the car and do some measuring you will come to these points quickly and see it's not just a dropin and easy bolt up on every point.
    Good luck.

welcome to the board. unless this is an all out race car. i think you'll find you'll be happy with a 302 stroked to 331 or 347. hooker 6901 headers fit these and you'll have a kittle bit of room to work with. going with a stroked 351, you might want to think about a mustang II front end or cutting the shock towers.:Welcome:
