Is it possible to remove the bearing race from a stock drum? I've got the spindle from my '74 on now but the bearing race in my hub is messed up.

Yes they are removable. They have to be driven from the center of the hub outward with a punch. Then when the new race is started back in, just use the old race on top of it(so you are not hammering on the new race) and hammer it in alternating around the circumference keeping it square.

Well the car is back together with the passenger side spindle from the '74. Took it out on I-85 North and ran 75-80 mph in the fast lane down to Jimmy Carter blvd. and stopped by The Varsity. Car has a slight shake around 55 which I think is a tire slightly out of blance, but 60 mph and up it's smooth as can be. Looks like I'm ready to drive it up to NC tomarrow. :)

I love the way them old straight 6's sound at 80 mph. :) Thanks for the help.
