Good job buddy...I like that much better than the 74. Keep it up and you're gonna have a heck of a nice car there.
Thanks guys. The car definately is a head turner compared to my '74. I've already had a couple of people roll their windows down at red lights and ask me what year it is and stuff. Mechanically the car basically is the '74 other then the transmission. The rearend is still the 4 lug for the time being but the front is 5 lug with larger Mustang drums. This summer I will be putting the lower mileage 250 from Dan's yellow car in it, swapping in the 5 lug rear out of my '76, and putting the dual exaust off the '74 on it. For now I just wanted to get the car driving. I may put a 302 in it this summer, but that depends on several things. I've definately been working my ass off on the car for the past month, so I really appreciate all the positive comments. edit: as far as court goes, I haven't heard anything. My court date is January 23rd, so we'll see what happens.
"we can rebuild him, better, stronger, faster...the worlds first 6 million dollar man" Oops sorry I slipped back about 30 years.I need another drink. Piecing stuff together from differnt sources to make it work is always rewarding. Looks like you're doing fine. Cleaver
Congratulations are definitely in order. Nice job! I like this one better too, but it could be because it's a color!
Rust and Bondo have something to do with it. The car looks good... thats about all it has going for it. The cowl leaks, rear floors have holes, the taillight panel is rusted through in several places, covered with bondo and held to the body with fiberglass. There is stong evidence that the car has been hit hard in the rear, since the rear frame is crumpled above the axel and looks like it has been pulled back straight. Bondo behind the front and rear wheels. Overall the rust isn't THAT bad, I've seen far worse. But in the distant future, it will be a parts car. It's a good looking driver. But I don't think it's worth putting to much time or money into other then to keep it running. The car is originally from Los Angeles, but spent years in Pennsylvania which I guess is where all the rust came from. Compareing it to the '74, the '74 needed front floors and the fender apron replaced. The fender apron and radiator support are rust free on this '72, which is very surpriseing. I'm happy with the car right now. It serves it's purpose well and I gave more then a fair price for it. Clint was very honest and I knew what shape it was in when I bought it.
I see. Seems that in GA toy should be able to find a decent rust free car for a fair price without having to do all that work.
Let me clear something up. Seems we have a few people here that think the state of insurance on the black car and my red car are their buisness, and think they can flame me over PM when they don't know any details of what they are talking about. Let me go on recored by saying the black car had insurance. Period. It had it. It could not have been legally registered in the state of Georgia without it. It just was not in my name. But I am covered under my parents policy, being that they are my legal gaurdians. The insurance is covering the wreck. The red car has insurance in my name specifically. I would never knowingly drive a car that does not have insurance. That would be irresponsible and just plain stupid. I don't know if what I said was misunderstood or what, seems like that happens alot around here. But anyone else who may think I knowingly drove a car with no insurance is Just plain wrong. I should have never posted about it on the other thread in the first place. Just to clear that up...
