A little over 20 years ago (when Mavericks still roamed this part of the country) a good buddy of mine loved my car. So he wanted to build one too. But he was bent on doing the 351 clevelend engine. Car turned out real nice and he spent a lot of time sticking that engine in. Real tight, people still talk about that car. It was pretty quick and got stolen by a juvenile who then used it in a bank robbery. He got caught and the car sat in an impound area and got trashed.

Yes it has been done by many people , You have to cut the shock towers and use Tubular automotive headers( for `65/`66 cleveland mustang swaps) part # that have two pipes that cross over from side to side. If you have a factory v-8 Maverick you`ll have to remove the bolt in cross member that goes under the engine and leave it off.

Yes a 351 Cleveland will fit!

My Maverick has had a 351 Cleveland in it for 19 years.

It is tough to tell in the picture but how much are the towers trimmed? Also, if you go with 4bl heads and exhaust manifolds you can probably flow as well as 2bl heads and headers without the header headache! Ask Terry about 4bl heads with factory manifolds vs headers. He found the headers slowed the car down at the track.

I have cut the shock towers back all the way to the spring and control arm. Sometime in the near future am going to remove the shock towers completely for more room. How do you think this will fit? It has a little over 200 c.i.d. on one bank.

Looks like a Boss 429, if so where did u come across that. I think you'll need a pretty big shoehorn to stuff that one in. Would be awesome though.

I like it. I have a nice 71 that one day I'd like to do a prostreet and put one of those in it. With a blower too.
