Heres a few pics of the Mav I just bought from Clint Deal. The Grabber hood is the one I already had, just couldn't resist putting it on......

And heres a few more.....one showing the worst rust is on the drivers side floorboard, and other than two small places about the size of a nickel in the quarters, the rest is pretty much rust free......

No luck on parting this one...this is a keeper! The color does kind of grow on you, don't it? It's the original color, Tan Glow according to the door tag. Looks like it has been resprayed in places. I plan on pulling parts off of my 74 Comet to build this one, then if funds allow, turning the Comet into a drag car....

Yea, that is a real good start. That car and my '72 were back yard buddies for quite a while in Clint's back yard. I looked it over pretty well and it's a nice car. If I would have had the money on me when I picked up the '72, I would have taken that one home with me to. Figgured I would just let someone else get it and give it the attention it deserves.

Gald to see it found that someone! (y)

I'm sure you'll also agree that Clint is a super nice guy who's welcome around here any time, Maverick or no Maverick. :)

I am so happy my two Mavericks found nice homes with loving owners.
I felt like I was having to sell my two favorite dogs or worse and hated to see them go. This Mustang is going to take all my free time and money for a while and I hated seeing them sit out back ang get into worse shape.
They really deserved better and they got it.
    Thanks everybody
Bobby and Jamie, they are both looking alot better already.

Clint, keep an eye out on here. I'm heading down to Terry's today or tomarrow to pick up a red Maverick hood and then I'm putting my black Grabber grill on the car. I'll be posting some pictures in the next few days. I gotta get to work on the interior. It looks like a tornado went through it right now. I've put about 300 miles on the car and it's running great. :)

Sorry Bobby, didn't mean to hijack your thread.

Thats okay Jamie. I took the race weight hood [read rusted out braceing] that you left at Clints home with me, figured it might come in handy later on. You wouldn't happen to have a Maverick gas cap you'd swap for a Comet one would you? I have a deluxe one on my Comet, looks pretty good, and the Maverick has got a standard Comet cap on it. It doesn't matter if it is a standard or deluxe, just so it's in good enough shape for a driver, will probably try to get a real good deluxe one later on.....

I have a pretty decent deluxe Maverick cap that came on the '73 4 door I got for free. It has a crack right through the center of the clear plastic lense, but other then that is great for a driver. I would gladly trade it for a deluxe Comet cap since I will eventually either buy a Comet or turn my wrecked '74 into one.

That had to be one of the most rusty Maverick hoods I have ever seen. I looked at it and figgured if I took it with me I would probably have just ended up tossing it off the side of a mountain on one of the old gravel NC back roads, so I left it. :)
