what is a GT40 crate motor worth. It has 12K on it, 340 horse version with aluminum X303s and an E303 cam. Comes with timing chain cover and FRPP valve covers. Don't know what this thing is worth. They are 3300 new.

ASSUMING there is no problems with it I would offer 1200.00 on it but no more than 1500.00.

I think it would be a super deal at 1200.00. JMO.

But why is it being sold? Problems maybe? If you know the history and its good, than it sounds like a pretty good deal.

Thanks for the replies. It was in a boss hoss motorcycle of all things. Middle age driver and no weight is easy on a motor. The motor is in good shape. I figured it was a good deal as it would cost almost that much for the heads alone, though the x303s are not the best alum head on the market. I guess I wanted to be sure it sounded like a good deal before I go for it. Thanks again! Mavaholic, he is going to a 347 stroker!! I've seen some of these bikes with 502s! They must be certified crazy. How do you hold up a bike with a 502 in it? Mike and Riporter, I'm thinking it is a great deal but wanted to be sure others agreed. BTW, no shipping involved so that helps.

I'm thinking that a GT40 is a 302. Why would he buy a 347 when he can stroke the one he already have? Or is the GT40 engine something other than a 302?

when you have the money! it is easier to buy the 347. it is probably a 20k-30k bike.

no bikes with reverse for me.

If you want a car, you should buy a car.
    Good score on the motor.
