Alright. When my Carb. was flooding out, the gass lines were dirty. I fixed that, and now my Choke sticks and whatnot. This is how it's been every since I got my Maverick (a few months back), fix one thing, two more problems appear. But that's what makes it so fun.

Here's my question (I looked, and I just can't find it):

I'm needing a Manual Choke. I went to Auto Zone, and they couldn't find it. All the guy could find was [font=arial,sans-serif][size=-1]"Choke Thermostat" and "Choke Pull Off". Which is the correct part? I'm still learning a lot from my dad about cars, so I didn't know what the heck to make of it :hmmm: I would ask my dad, but he's working today.

All I want is a cable that goes to the Choke, that I can adjust from within the car.

Thanks a lot for the help, guys.

I just installed a Manual Choke on my new carb today before I installed the carb in the car. Got the entire kit for $8 at Advance Auto in the Help section. I also tried Autozone's help section first but they didn't have any ...

I just got back from Bills Auto. They had one for $11.

Any advice or tips you guys can share? I've never installed a Manual Choke before.

    Thanks a lot!

I just followed the directions .... Went on no problems. The lever they supply was a little too long to clear my air cleaner so I trimmed it down with a dremel.

I mounted the pull handle to the left of the emergency brake handle ... yours will be a little tricker to mount since you have the dash with a glove box ... I installed a tray on my 74 so I just screwed it into the metal ... I drilled a 1/4 inch hole right through the firewall where the clutch rod would have gone on a stick shift car for the cable.

Since I had a 6-cylinder the engine mount was a little tricky but I figured out how to use the Throttle cable bracket as a base for the mount. If you have a V8 there should be a bolt on the intake manifold to user for the engine side mount for the cable. Mine looks a little sloppy now but I;ll get it cleaned up ... I just wanted to make sure it worked ... :)

Hahaha - I wish I had a V-8! I got a 250 6-Cylinder, so i guess it's, as you stated, going to be tricky. I'll get it on, might take a while, but it will be on tonight.

Thanks for them pics, Hines. Looks great!
