I believe this dash mounted light was a 72 thing only. Does anyone have a different year with it? Or how about a 72 that dosen't have it?
My 72 does not have it but I am not sure if they were in any others, can't say that I really ever looked.
To hell with the light Mavaholic how bout a better look at that guage pod ??? What little bit i can see that looks awesome ...
check out this thread, there's a couple of pics of the gauge pod http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1679&highlight=dash
Dennis, I believe they only came on 72 models. The Sprint I went and looked at a while ago had this light, but other than that I haven't seen any others. -Corbin
My yellow '72 has it....and it works. Light stays on and the buzzer buzzes if you put it in drive and don't have a seat belt on. Will keep buzzing till you put it on. Sensors in the seat "knows" if there is a passenger or not. Orange 72 doesn't have it.
It's not a dash mounted seat belt light, but my '70 has one at the lowest part of the left gage cluster. There was never a light behind it. It reads "Fasten Belts". Now it lights up when I flip on the nitrous switch. The gage cluster I got from a '72 didn't have that, just a blank window. I was wondering why it changed. Guess because they put them in the dash that year.
My green Grabber does not have the dash light, but the yellow Grabber, the Sprint, and the 4-door all have the light. The green Grabber was made earlier than the other three 72's and did not come with recoil seatbelts while the other three have them. [I figured I would shed some light on the subject].
My 72 Grabber doesn't have it. I have the space for a light in the instrument cluster that says fasten seat belt, but no bulb socket for it. Mine was made in Nov of 1971 in Kansas City.
Seatbelt light Mavaholic: This won't ans what years had the light, but my 72 Comet has a light shell just like that. The lens is missing.I've been kind of wondering what that light could have been. BTW my Comet is NOT a GT. I had a new 70 Maverick and there was no such light. Jan
I think it Doug nailed it with the recoil seatbelts. I know there are micro switches in the retract mechinism. I'm sure it was 72 only and probably the very early ones didnt have the retrack belts. Hey Squeal, does your 72 fit this grouping?
