I received a reply for RotorPros concerning the directionallity of their rotors. Here is the series of emails: Great. Yeah I think the guys on the forum have seen Baer or Wilwood rotors. They tell you to install them the opposite way ( facing forward ). Guess why??? Eats your rotors and pads quicker so you will have to purchase more from them!!!! Thanks again maverick4@charter.net wrote: Rich; that is the way I have them. Thanks for the clarification, and I will get your offer out on the boards. Thanks for the quick response and great service. And...for a great product. This will give you the longest pad life. If for some reason you installed the opposite it will be OK. Just cuts away a little pad life. No need to worry. I am attaching you a picture of the left driverside front rotor on my Mustang. You will see the slots face towards the back of the vehicle. Please send us a plug or two on your forum. If you can get a group buy going we will definately re-imburse you some $$$$. Thanks again That is the way I have them on my car, so I'll leave them. Hope this clears up the question. BTW, get a buy together and save some money on the rotors. They are at: rotorpros.com
The description in the message is a little confusing. "install the rotors with the end of the slots facing towards the back of the vehicle" Is this looking at the top of the rotor or the bottom?
never had to look for l/r on rotors before . Earl, check your boxes and see if they are marked l/r. thanks...frank...
They are marked, we just didn't see the markings. Evidently, they are correct......just by luck! Teach me to assume anything any more!!!!! The guy at rotorpros sent me a pic of his mustang, but it is too large to shrink down and the quality is bad, but his go like mine do. Oh well!
Drilled / slotted rotors The pics in #1,3,6 posts do not match the one in the #17 post as far as the direction of rotor travel is concerned. The 1,3,6 post show a drivers front as well as the 17 post. The rotors are put on differently in both pics......so.....which one is the proper way to install them? 1,3,6 or 17? Maybe I am just easily confused but I see a drivers front rotor put on two different ways. Any comments about which one is right?
The rotors on my car, green Mav (Pic#3 on post #1, and post #17) are correct, according to the people who made them.
They are from www.rotorpros.com just about always a Maverick set on E-bay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Granada-Maverick-Mustang-Conversion-Drill-Rotors_W0QQitemZ8011104463QQcategoryZ33564QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
earl, if the boxes are still stacked on your work bench, the one on top is the one we put on the pass. side...frank...
