    The '70 is fermenting while I decide which way to go with it.Here's whats on my mind so far;
a built 250 w/the new aluminum FSPP head,5spd-economical driver, but still fun to drive
    a 351w/c4 combo-stock cast C9 block & 4bbl intake,manifolds,stock gear-sort of a phantom/prototype car that escaped the crusher.
    typical 302,headers,c4 w/stall...wait,it's already there.:biglaugh:
Except for the FSSP head for the six and a decent t5,I've got everything else lying around here.:2cents: for your thoughts?

I voted 250/T5. I think that would be awesome.

I vote for the 250/T5. Lots of fun, and better on gas. Wish I had a T5!

Those guys over at ford six say that you could run up to 11.1 on pump gas! They're talking about 500-600 hp possibilities with that new head.(y) If it's that good,a 250-300 horse streeter should be a no brainer.:D Definitely worth looking into.

I hope I don't offend anyone, but I will say it...
I don't care how powerful, no engine sounds good like a V8.

I like your stock 'looking' 351 idea.
You could 393 it for not much more dough than the rebuild.
Use some mild aluminum heads and Shelby intake, all with blue paint, and it would look bone stock. Boy howdy, it would sure scream though.
I had a 351w GT350 intake for a while, I was going to try it out when I build a stroker. It is a very aggressive dual plane, but looks like it could be iron when painted.
I wanted some dough to spend on my 'new' Mav though, so I don't have no 351 intake no more...

I've got one of the C9 cast 4bbl intakes off an old gt torino.Im sure it's not that great, but it would have the stock look.Yea sixes don't sound as good as v8's to me either, but that's why they make mufflers & resonators!

I think you would be surprised what a straight 6 sounds like with the right cam and exaust. I bet if you heard Terry's '77 idleing you wouldn't know it wasn't a V8. You really can't tell what kind of engine is in it when it's reved up.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
i'd go with a I6! to me the v8's been done!

when i go to the drag strip i'm more impressed with a small motor running fast.

at the car shows if the V8 don't have some kind of power adder or has a motor where it didn't come stock with then i'm like ok, this is worth standing around looking at. however if it just a "V8" big deal, a mainifold, holley carb, headers and chome air cleaner and valve cover... nothing really differant about that.

the only draw back on a I6 it won't be as streetable as a bigger engine that would have = HP

my second pick would be 351 only if it was stroked.. like a 408 or even 427... i see no point in a standard 351 when you can get a 302 and stroke it. sorry to offend but JMO everone has there opinon ;)

let us know what u decide

This is the intake I sold recently.
69-70 GT350, or FPP as well.
They are VERY aggressive for a dual plane. Instead of 8 ports, it has 8 funnels. It's almost like a plenum box intake, just split into dual planes. Hard to explain.
I still want to try this intake on a stroker W.

It's lighter and more aggressive than any iron part.

I wonder what a Buick turbo would do on an inline 6 with a good head and exhaust?
How far can a 250 be bored and stroked?
Even in a Mav, there should be plenty of room for the project.
    That might be interesting...
