heres and arg head setup.. been looking at this for awhile... i meet the guy at a show a few months ago... something to consider! then again it would be better to drop the header and run a turbo insead!
lol... could you imagine the look on people's faces when they realized that a 6 is pushing a maverick into the 13's or faster... since the 6 is lighter... i would imagine the car to run faster... it would be nice to see a mav with that engine in it good luck
The head they are makeing is supposedly going to be better then the argie head or any of them. Best of all worlds I guess. A turbo'ed 250 would just be the most awesome thing ever. Maybe sooner or later all the other aftermarket companys will catch on and start produceing parts for the straight 6's also. I think the future looks bright for these engines. They are a dime a dozen and if you can't find one for free, you ain't looking.
I didn't think it came with all that stuff, but they did say it would have stock location exhaust ports so's to work w/regular 200/250 headers.I imagine them to develop 2 and 4bbl intakes once the head is finalized.
Last year, I saw a guy in an old Ford pickup (mid/late 40's) with a 250 in it at the track. He got his horses from super high compression (NOT for street use) and super high rpms. I forget exactly how quick he was (in the 1/8th), but he was pulling the front left wheel and was a crowd favorite. There was no mistaking it was a 6-cylinder. They have that unmistakable, unique, ear-piercing sound.
OK guys, we all need to rally 'round the cause and convince the NHRA/IHRA that these heads were "factory" items on the Shelby Mavericks. I'll be the first I6 Stocker in the 11's!!!! (lol)
See FSPP quote above "complete head and choice of intake". Don't think the header will be included as they are making it work with off the shelf stuff. With the Argie I think you get both. The Argie guys haven't come up with any specs yet, even though it appears they are selling an occasional head. I suspect it won't compete, but wonder if maybe top end would be better since it is apparently a race heritage head. For those of you going "Huh? Race heritage head on a 6?" I quess there's lots or racing of this motor in Argentina.
Yeah....I'm sure they'll believe that one. Of course, it'll only take 3 maybe 4 years for the NHRA Tech department to get it approved.
