I ordered a new front end rebuild kit from the company in Canada.(Craig gave me the info, instal yours yet Craig?) I am planning on doing it in a week or so. My question is.. Is this a one day long) job or a weekend job?:hmmm: I don't want to start this project and then have the car all over the garage for more than a day or so. Thanks all..

It can be done in a day, I got most of mine done in a day. I ordered from the same company too (American Pony). Had to get some stuff (tie rod ends, idler arm bushing) at Advance because it's not common with the Mustang.

I have mine installed. Havn't driven the car yet.

I also installed the same kit in my brother's 1969 Fairlane. Takes a day to to it.

This is kinda off subject but has anyone here ever figured out how to get enuff space for the zerk fittings on the upper control arms? I have enuff space to have theme on but not enuff to attach a grease gun and use theme. they barely touch the tower. thanks

theres two ways. the one is to use a crowbar and slightly bend just in front of each zerk hole to make room for 90 degree zerks. the other is to actually drill a hole through the front and back of the shock tower directly to the hole and put in a straight zerk. you can then get rubber hole plugs to put in those. at least these are the two im aware of.

OR.....go to any Mustang resto house, and get the 90degree zerk kit made just for that. Comes with a tool, two piece fittings and is fairly easy to install. Put mine on right after I got the car, no problems since. Quietens down squeaky A-frame bushings.

does that kit have some special zerks or something? i had to use the crowbar the first time just to fit them into the hole they screw into :hmmm:.

Yeah, they do. The normal 90degree fittings are longer, and hit the shock towers. The ones in the kits are shorter, and two piece, and fit perfect. They cost about $15-20 bucks, depending on where you get them. Mustangs Unlimited has them.
